Meet the guide
Jan-Derick, or J-D as he prefers to be called, joined Raizcorp equipped with an MPhil in Applied Ethics and Business Ethics, as well as a slew of interesting courses including Leadership Coaching, Managing Polarities and Change Management. J-D has worked as a consultant, coach and facilitator in various workplaces.
Risk-taking is one of J-D’s strengths. He thrives on change and has, in his own words, “leapt into uncertainty and dared to find out who I am at all costs.” J-D is a big-picture thinker, enjoying the challenge of seeing how things fit together and impact on each other. He acknowledges, however, that he tends to rush forward into new things, and hopes that guiding at Raizcorp will keep him centred, calm and focused on the present – qualities that have challenged him in the past.
Despite his enjoyment of “big-picture” thinking, J-D has an eminently practical side and is able to formulate practical action steps towards goal-achievement, an ability that suits a Strategy Guide perfectly. J-D is passionate about change and believes that we have an obligation to leave the world a better place than we found it.
